Installed in a stairwell previously boarded up for 20 years (and uncovered for this project), with
you I consists of paper pieces approximately 1” x 3” that are screenprinted and handwritten on. These strips alternate in the phrases “with you I fall” and “with you I float.” The paper is sewn with thread and hung down the length of the stairwell, playing on the implied movement of stairs, the climb and the descent, and the elation and devastation of loving.
